The upcoming star of "The Bachelorette" is at the center of a police investigation days before her season is set to premiere, USA TODAY reported March 17.

Police are reportedly investigating an alleged domestic incident involving Taylor Frankie Paul, who was named the star of season 22 of the ABC reality show in September, and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, according to USA TODAY. Both Paul and Mortensen star in the Hulu reality TV series, "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives."

Fans of "The Bachelorette" may wonder if this will affect the show's premiere. Here's what we know.

The Draper City Police Department in Northern Utah confirmed to People magazine that there is an ongoing "domestic assault investigation" involving Paul and Mortensen, who have both reportedly leveled allegations. Law enforcement made contact with the parties on Feb. 24 and 25, the spokesperson told the outlet.

When reached by USA TODAY, the Draper Police Department issued a statement saying it "respects the rights and privacy of all citizens."
